WEEK 3 "Heimlich on Valentine's Day"

Hola!

Wow this week was exciting and absolutely flewwwww by. We taught about 14 lessons to our investigator and I am slowly getting more comfortable teaching in Spanish. I cannot tell you how blessed I am to have my sweet companions by my side. They help me so much. They are the most supportive, loving and understanding people I know. We have a blast together.

Valentine’s Day is a little funny here at the MTC. Some people walk around with little sticky notes with locks over their hearts symbolizing their heart is locked for their mission. But most people just give out random candy to anyone and everyone as you walk by.

One of the highlights of this week was playing in the snow with our district. Our district was not very close at the beginning but now we are the best of friends and have bonded sooo much! Hahah it’s weird how the MTC brings your district and zone together like fam.
Another huge tender mercy that scared the living daylights out of me happened this week. A sweet sister was choking on her food in the cafeteria (probably because the food is so bad). But in all honesty, it was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. And while I was running around frantically with tears in my eyes, trying to get someone to help her, a bold sister in my zone ran over and started doing the heimlich on her. She did it for a solid two or three minutes before she stopped choking. I have never seen someone directed so divinely by Heavenly Father. During this life-threatening situation, this sister acted with so much confidence. After this incidence, the sister in my zone explained to me how she took an EMT class in high school but honestly was not that confident in her abilities. She is very shy and soft-spoken and knew that Heavenly Father gave her the confidence and power to help save this sister's life
This week we had a devotional by one of the seventy and guess what?!?! The church is coming out with Book of Mormon videos. We got to watch the trailer to the first movie which comes out soon and it sent chills down my back. I KNOW the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It answers the questions of my soul. Every time I read it I feel something special. This week when I was feeling a little frustrated, I turned to the Book of Mormon to receive strength from Heavenly Father and he spoke directly to my heart. The verse that I turned to was exactly what I needed to hear. I know that God knows us all so personally and he is in the details of our lives. I am so beyond thankful to be learning so much here in the MTC. I love you all.

Mucho Exito,

Hermana Richards
