WEEK 10 "Flamingos and Faith"

Another week in gorgeous Florida has brought many exciting new miracles and adventures. Something that I have learned this week is that God works with us even when we are lacking faith. He is so kind and patient with me. I am learning so many life lessons here that will carry me on to accomplish the work I am called to do.

This week we did some life changing service at a park called "Flamingo Gardens."  We picked up trash four a few hours while roaming the green grounds that are filled with the most exquisite peacocks. After we picked up trash we were able take a peek at the alligators, flamingos, otters, and every type of bird you can imagine. I cant wait to go back again!

This past week we were knocking in a very poor neighborhood. There were children running the streets with no clothes on and several trailers had burnt down just a couple days earlier. These people had very little. It was in that moment that I doubted that we could find anyone to talk to. These people were struggling to put food on the table. On top of this we were warned by all the people we talked to about all the drug problems in this neighborhood and how we should probably leave. Haha as I complained to my companion a little about my concerns we went to the side of the street and prayed. As we finished, I looked up and a man was walking toward us. He had been watching us for the past 30 minutes and was prompted to come speak to us. He was a finance dude and had created a business model to help people get out of debt and save for retirement. He wants to work together but I doubt we will be able to do that haha. Dad if you have any suggestions let me know. This was God's way of sending me someone that I needed in a moment when I was lacking faith.
Yesterday I was also doubting our ability in achieving our goals of finding. Yet again I am so weak. But yet again God is so merciful. God sent us a miracle literally seconds later and we reached our goal! We knocked on a door of a man who's name is Chris. He explained how we were angles sent to him. He told us how he was missing something in his life that cars and material items couldn't fill. He recognized that we had a personal relationship with our Savior and that we looked so happy. He instantly expressed his deep desire to come to know Christ and have a relationship with Him too. We are excited to teach Chris and help him in his journey to coming to know our Savior.
This week I have realized the power of faith conquering my doubts. Matthew chapter 8 has resonated in my heart. This is when Christ is asleep on the ship with His disciples. They are in a wild storm and all of his disciples are scared out of their minds. In verse 26 it says, " Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?" After He said this He immediately calmed the storms and the seas. This relates to all of us. When we are doubting and questioning God's power in our life we need to remember that through Christ we can do all things. We are accomplishing the impossible here in Silver Lakes right now. And I know that each of you can accomplish the impossible in your own personal challenges. Through Him our storms can be calmed. Through Him we can overcome darkness and doubt. Even when it seems impossible to have faith, remember that miracles are just around the corner. Keep changing lives back home. I love you all! Have the best week ever.
