WEEK 15 "Trams in Florida?"

Hola mis amors! Como esta todo?

Happy Mothers Day to all my favorite mothers out there! I hope your families spoiled you yesterday!

This week we went thrift shopping on P-day. I bought 6 shirts for under $20!! As a missionary you don't have a ton of money but man, oh man, did we score the jackpot!  Our area is super wealthy and as you drive down the streets there are a million car dealerships. sooo thanks to all the wealthy families that live nearby we get all the unwanted clothing at the thrift store and it is high-quality stuff! I also couldn't restrain myself from buying a tropical Floridian shirt too! (Sorry mom, it's pretty ugly). We also went to an Equestrian park and had a picnic while we watched the cute little horseback riders do their tricks! It was a great time! We love our P-days (preparation days).

I went on exchanges this week with another super cute sister. She came to my area and so I was in charge of all the plans that day. We had service in the morning at Flamingo Gardens which is always a highlight. This week we took the tram after we did some service around the park. The tram is a little train cart invention that is pulled by a jeep. Yeah, I was definitely expecting a ski tram or something that took us up into the air... hahaha! too bad there is zero elevation here. But yeah, we got a nice tour of all the different species of flowers, tree, and plants that are locally grown here in Florida. Talk about the prettiest scenery! wow! We have some pretty awesome friends here at Flamingo Gardens! They gave us free shirts this time because the lady told us that we are their favorite volunteers that have been coming back for years! The volunteer coordinator is interested in coming to church with us. So hopefully we will see her this Sunday:)

In the Silver Lakes area we have been focusing a lot of our time and energy on serving the ward and building stronger relationships with them! One way that we have done this is by getting to know the youth better. This past week we did a youth activity where we played a super fun game of Jeopardy!  We asked the youth what type of questions they get asked at school about their beliefs. And then we created the game around these questions. We had a riot teaching them how to be better missionaries to their friends, and they are already thinking more missionary minded. We have the best youth!

Another highlight of this week- we had the incredible opportunity of finding and teaching Edgar and Silvia. They are from Costa Rica and have the cutest 1 year old baby! Silvia and her mom met with the missionaries back in her home country and she wanted to learn more. Edgar's brother just passed away in a very tragic accident, and they were desperately in need of hope and light. We taught them the plan of salvation and the spirit was so strong! They are committed to come to church this Sunday with us and we can't wait to see them progress as they take these small acts of faith. My favorite scripture right now is found in Ether 12:12 "For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith."

I know that as we exercise even a mustard seed of our faith, God will do His part and add to it with his perfect love and mercy. We will be able to see power from heaven come into our lives as we do the small and simple things. God is perfect and unchanging and miracles have not ceased. I know we can see miracles in our lives if we just trust in Him and act in faith. He is waiting patiently to bless us more than we can imagine. I know that the Plan of Salvation is God's perfect plan for each of us. He wants us to return to live with him and our families for eternity and I know that this is possible by following the Savior's example. I love you all so much! Have the best week ever!!

Besitos!
