WEEK 24 "And Your Companion Will Be...A Brand New Missionary"
Hola que tal?
Okay I don't have much time to write today but things are changing up real fast down here. We got our transfer calls last night and guess what? I will be training and whitewashing into the Hollywood north area!
I wish you could have all seen my reaction when I recieved this news. I did not see this coming at all. This is crazy! I am still shocked but I couldn't be more excited to meet my new soon-to-be best friend tomorrow!
My companion right now was trained in Hollywood south (both of these Spanish areas share the same chapel/ward) and she has been giving me the low down on what I need to know. So far I know that they call it Holly-weird. And in her own words she said "it's seriously just soooo weird that's all you need to know." Haha she told me that one time this man was wearing a huge snake as a scarf around his neck and started chasing after them. Sooo this should be be a new adventure! And I have a feeling that it is going to be A LOT different than the prestige silver lakes area.
However, this past week in silver lakes we saw lots of mircales! Our amazing friend Stewart accepted a date for his baptism! He told us that every time he learns more about Christ and exercises his faith he feels like a light bulb goes on in his body. And he wants to feel that all the time! We told him that after his baptims he will reviece the gift of the holy ghost which God promises will be a constant companion to him to help him feel more of this light and clarity. He is soooo amazing.
Then we also had amazing lessons with our friends Patricia, Adrianna, Mayra, Anna, Leen and Carlos!
It is hard saying goodbye to my family here in the branch and the sweet friends that we are teaching but I know that there are people in Hollywood that need this message as well!!!
One of my favorite scriptures is found in 2 nephi 26:24! "He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation."
I know our Savior lives and love us infinitely. He is at the head of this church and his gospel had been restored again on the earth. My favorite part about the gospel is that we have the gift of second chances, the gift of change and improvement. And that only comes through our Savior.
Les quiero mucho!!!
