WEEK 27 "The Lord Requires The Heart"
Nothing crazy happened this week except our house is infested with rats. It totally makes sense though, because we live next to a gorgeous river and are surrounded by tons of coconut trees (which is their favorite snack). Anyway, we called the landlord and he helped us put out lots of rat poison. We haven't heard them anymore so keep your fingers crossed.
This week was super busy. We have been blessed to teach so many cute families. One of my favorite themes that I have noticed this week is the piercing power of peace that the spirit brings. Even amidst crying babies, loud motors, and all the chaos that life brings we can still feel the spirit if we turn our thoughts toward God. There is nothing more that I love in life than helping families grow their faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and as a result feel the spirit flood into their often hectic lives.
I have been thinking a lot about how the Book of Mormon has blessed my life this past week. Every day I have the opportunity to share this beautiful book that has changed my life with everyone that I come in contact with. Often times people come up to us and tell us that we are crazy. But I love to look those people in the eye and ask if they have ever read it. They usually say no.
I don't know a lot of things but one thing that I know for sure is that this Book is Truly the word of God. I know it is true because I have read it and I have seen fruits of peace and love and light flood into my life every time I read it. This book has brought me closer to my Savior than any other book in the world. With the Bible and the Book of Mormon, we have the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This means that we have everything that Christ used to establish His perfect church. The Book of Mormon answers the deepest questions of the soul. And the most important question is answered, how to reach exaltation. I know that as we read and apply the gospel of Jesus Christ that is laid out simply in the Book of Mormon, we will one day become like God and live with our families in His glory for the eternities.
This is Gods great plan of happiness. He wants us all to return and live with him and experience all of the blessings that are included in exaltation. This is truly Christ's Church established on the earth again. And the Book of Mormon is convincing evidence that His church has been restored.
"The Lord requires the heart and a willing mind" DC 64:34 and-1 chronicles 28:9 I believe that when the Lord is saying I want the heart, he means he wants all of us. Not just half of our efforts half of the time. He wants us to be all in and dedicate our whole hearts to following our Savior.
I love you all so much and I hope you know you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Besitos,
Hermana Richards
