WEEK 42 "You're deading me... I'm staying in Miami!!!!!!"

Dont have much time but here are some MILAGROS from this week!!

1. This week in Miami we have seen many tender mercies by doing the 30 30 30 30 challenge that Elder Bowen left us 2 weeks ago. Last night two of our lessons fell through and we were bummed. We saw a family across a parking lot. My companion was nervous to talk to them because they had a huge dog. I told her we needed to at least try. As we started to talk to this family the spirit touched my heart and I knew that they were a very unique family from Honduras.

The dad immediately reminded me of my old bishop in Hollywood. As  we went on to share our purpose as missionaries all five of them were very intrigued. We shared our unique story of the Book of Mormon and Restoration in 5 minutes and they loved it. They were so kind they even offered to feed us. I love how God truly adds to our small efforts as we act in faith. The message of this restored gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful and when we share it with others the spirit is always there.

2.This past week we were suppose to have a dia de hispanidad where all the members come dressed up in their native country costumes and bring food and dance and have a big party. However we had to reschedule it because our leaders told all the members that they needed to go up north to help clean up the hurricane. At the beginning of the transfer we were spreading the word like crazy and apparently we forgot to tell some people about the cancellation.
Well it turns out that the night that we were suppose to have this big party we were at the church doing ward correlation and a family home evening. Suddenly we heard a knock and a cute family that we had found on the streets 5 weeks ago, whom we had lost contact with, showed up at the church looking for our big party!!! Luckily we were able to pull off a fun family home evening instead and it was great. The Lord is so kind and always provides a way to help people come unto Christ. The best part was that one of the guys in the family is a professional diver. He travels all around the world and told us that after our missions he would take us on one of his expeditions for free.

2. Yohendris is still a gem. He is the funniest person I have met. He is the toughest guy on the outside but is the most tender person on the inside. This week we found out that sometimes when he watches chick flicks he cries and on occasion he likes to dance in his room alone. He is a hoot. But the best part is to see his conversion process in action. He loves the Book of Mormon (especially the story of Nephi) and calls us every night to give us a summary of what he read that day.

Love you all. have a fabulous week!
