WEEK 43 "Sneak Peak into A Day in the Life of a Sister Missionary in Miami"
Hey everyone happy late thanksgiving!
Today we went to the temple with our zone to do a session and it was the most peaceful experience. After living in the Miami chaos for 8 weeks I couldn't have needed this more. As soon as we walked into the celestial room I was filled with the deepest feeling of serenity and calmness. Our cute mission presidents were there waiting to greet each one of us. I am soooo grateful for temples. They are truly essential in the plan of happiness that God has created for each one of us.
Okay soooooo I would like to retell a story to help you see a small glimpse into our lives down here. The series of unfortunate events is mind-blowing but when we put all our trust in God it doesn't matter how bad your day is going God always allows you to find the people who are looking for the gospel. This past Monday we had no plans but to find alllll day. We woke up and did our studies then picked up some food from a members house.... and this is where the craziness started... we were talking to a cute Cuban grandma and she accidentally spit straight into my mouth while I was talking... it wasn't just some ordinary small spitball she was chewing gross chicharone (fried pig skin) when she spit in my mouth!! I almost died on the spot.
Then later while we were catching the bus and of course I couldn't find my pass, but right when I found my pass we hopped on and had to sadly do the walk of shame off because our passes were expired. While we started the trek to sadonos, the Latin supermarket, to put more money on our passes we ran into another Cuban grandma who asked my companion if she was pregnant!!! I didn't know what to do so I started complimenting my companion's eyes and telling her how pretty she was. After that, a nice man on the bus gave me a tiny bible and then once we reached our destination the miracles started flooding. Some of the highlights were..we found and taught the sweetest cancer survivor and her friend Luz from Venezuela.
They immediately let us in to share our message. Later we found a cute part member family to teach who have been drowning in trials. Then we were trying to visit a prospective Elder and we taught his whole family and committed them all to church.

After finding all day we had to make the journey from the very bottom of our area to the very top Becuase we had a lesson with yohendris that night. We had to grab a fast dinner on the way and so stopped by Wendy's for dinner. This was the worst idea we had all day!!!! We got food poisoning from the grilled chicken sandwich... but we continued to teach yohendris to prepare him for baptism. The next morning we woke and we're completely sick and could barely move but we found and taught over 30 people that day and we felt very accomplished.
I know that God and Jesus Christ love each one of us without end. My mission has helped me understand the role of the spirit and the power of following the promptings that you receive. I know that we are put on the earth to learn and grown and change and become better. This is only made possible through Christ and his atonement. I love the gospel and I know that it has been restored to the earth through a modern day prophet. I love you all!!!
Con amor,
Hermana Richards
