WEEK 54 "Tamales for the Win"

Holaaa

Well this week seemed like a blur because it went by super fast!

This week we had a nightmare moving day! It was great because we were serving a member who was going through a really hard time. But it took us 6 hours to haul down all of her stuff from the 7th floor... boxes kept breaking because they were so old. And to make it even worse, at the very end of the six hours no one could find where the key to the uhaul was placed!!

I decided we needed to pray. So right there in the middle of the parking lot all 8 of us said a mighty prayer. After 10 minutes of looking through the boxes, someone lifted up a big bowl and on the top of the box was a little red charm on a key chain. Sister Spencer and I immediately dug our hands into the box and pulled out the key! It was a straight miracle, and I know that the spirit was leading us in every step.

This week there was definitely an underlining theme with all of our friends this week... Discovering truth through the spirit. This whole transfer we have been teaching a part member family. They are from Nicaragua. Alba, the mom is seriously our best friend. She takes us out to eat Carne Asada and queso frito all the time. She has been progressing but still is hooked on her Catholic beliefs.
This week we took her to do a tour of the temple. However when we got there it was closed because of our lack of planning... but we still were able to soak up the spirit from afar. We taught her the importance of the covenants that we make there and how we need to rely on the spirit to make this decision for our own lives. I love the 1 corinthians 2:10-11
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spiritfor the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
I also love the video that is called "Discovering truth."

We all go through life with questions and even doubts. As we replace our doubts with faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we will always be lead to answers. The key is that we cannot harden our hearts and we need to seek for our answers with diligence and full purpose of heart. When I reflect on the ways that I have found answers it is almost always through scriptures. If any of you are seeking for an answer, I challenge you to do what Nefi did... (1 nephi 10:19)
For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old, and as well in times of old as in times to come; wherefore, the course of the Lord is one eternal round.

I know that through doing the small and simple things we can build a testimony of unbreakable spiritual power. As we rely on the promptings of the Holy Ghost, who is ultimately our teacher while we are here on the earth, we will be able to be lead out of darkness and into higher light.

Love you all!! Have the best week ever; dont forget to get some nice turns in for me this week:)

con mucho amor,

Hermana Richards
