WEEK 62 "Mi Dulce Angelita, Lily, Vive!"
Another week flewww by and it's sometimes super hard to remember all the details or anything at all but i'll try my best to illustrate our week.
Isn't general coference just the best!!! I love how missionary minded all the talks were. Wahoo! It truly is the greatest work ! One of my highlights of conference was the talk on being casual or being careful when it comes to living the gospel. I think it's so important that we are always striving to fine tune our testimonies and find weakness that can be turned into strengths.
Besides general conference, the other highlight of this week was for sure this past Wednesday!! We had an insanely fun zone conference trying something that we had never done before. My old comp and I spent many months planning it with the leaders and it finally came to fruition. To say the least, it was a total riot. We were focusing a lot on mission unity and I would say it was a slamming success. We played human Foosball, Book of Mormon clue, an obstacle course team skiing race thingy and a rope challenge to get untied from your comp. The one thing that I learned is that unity truly starts with YOU. One person can make all the difference. It was so fun to play in the hot sun and see old faces whom I dearly love.
Then on Friday we had mlc where I was reunited with my sweet friends again to discuss and find ways to solve the needs of the mission. I just always love seeing Sister jensen and this time Sister rolfson was there too!! The only down side was that Sister rolfson brought to my attention that our dearest friend Lily in the blue lagoon area had passed away from cancer. I let out a shriek and dropped to my feet. To say the least I was devastated.
But oh how I needed conference! What we learned from prophet Nelson was exactly what I needed to hear. He taught that we will be able to see our loved ones in the next life and we will all be one big family linked together as we make these sacred convents in the holy temples. I am so grateful for temples and that our Savior Jesus Christ make it all possible.
Lily is everything to me. Because I knew her, I have come to know my Savior better. She is one of the closest examples I have to what my Savior is and what he wants us to become. It was truly her time and I can't think of anyone else that could have been more prepared to meet our Savior.
We met Lily in a straight dump of a trailer park in the middle of disgusting Miami on CALLE OCHO. Comparison to this very humble setting, lily was beaming, straight glowing from head to toe. I couldn't figure out why she was shinning so brightly so I immediatly ran up to her and instantly fell in love with her bubbly personality and her life changing laugh. She willinginly let us come over to her house and after the Restoration lesson she knew that Joseph Smith was called of God and she had a deep desire to join the true church of God.
However, a week later she was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. The strongest woman that i know lived with faith that she would conqueor this terminal disease. She never doubted. I remeber the moment that she told me that she was diagonsed. With tears streaming down my face i told her she had overcome it once and could do it again. I had grown to love this woman with all my heart. I have never prayed harder in my entire life than i did at the bed side in her hospital room. I do remember after this prayer the spirit prompted me that i would do her work in the temple one day. I wrote down this promoting but i pushed it aside with faith that she would live.
Fast forward two months later, God has now called her to another work. And I know without a doubt that she is in paradise. She lived the most amazing life. And i hope one day to publish a book of all her inspiring accomplishments. Truly she is my hero and I am anxious to get in contact with her family to do her work when our recent converts go this month.
"I am eternally indebted to my Heavenly Father to render all that i have and am!" I know that our prophet is truly so inspired. I know that he holds the same keys that Noah and Moses and Abraham amd all the prophets of old had. I know that the very church that Jesus Christ established in his time, is on the earth again in its fullness. There's not a doubt in my mind that this work is His, that the temple is the house of God, and that Christ lives. And because He lives i will be able to see Lily and all my sweet relatives again.
Okay first let's just talk about how there was so much hype about the possible changes in general conference and then nothing happened haha! all the missionaries were expecting something big. However, we are still looking forward for continued revelation in the future months to come.

Oh sweet the joy this sentence gives,
I know that my Redemer lives!
I hope you all are feeling the amazing sweet spirit of this easter season that Christ has to offer us.
Besitos,
Hermana Richards
Also funniest thing ever!!! My comp has had a really bad concussions too and who knows why God put us together... but we both have awful memories. Amd last night we "oymed" this cute lady and at the very end of the lesson we realized that we had met her a week ago! Soo embarassing. It was dark but we are also very bad at rembering things. she was so patient and is actually super interested and milagros are still are out there and happening with two very concussed human beings. Hahah pray for us lol
