WEEK 65 "The Holy Ghost will say boo to you" or in my case "Gabriel"

Hey everyone!! I hope finals and end of the year projects are going well. I love this time of year it's so exciting and there is so much energy in the air with school letting out and such.

You will not believe what happened this week in Hialeah.. we had a zone council. After the elders made the worst scene ever... the tv fell over and the slide show wasn't working.... we had the most amazing spiritual experience! The adversary truly does try and intercede right before a life-changing spiritual experience. And that is exactly what we had. We created a spiritual devotional of how we can become true disciples of Christ. This experience was so powerful and the spirit told each one of us what we needed to do to change and be better. here are just a few things that touched my heart.... "sacrifice who I am now for who I will become." "You cannot do anything without your heart. Success as a missionary comes from charity." "Why do we want to be like Christ? Because it's happiness; it's peace. I need to surrender my unwanted surrender. Don't look back, don't regret. Start new and make the future different with Him." "We need to love fearlessly and fight for the spirit."

So the spirit is just my bestest friend. When I was little our family joke was a saying, "the Holy Ghost says boo to you!" It is not true, but it was a cute saying my little sister Eliza screamed at a baptismal service when she was 3. She wasn't wrong that the spirit definitely alerts us of what we need to do. He never ceases to amaze me. This week we were praying to know where God needed us to go that day. The most random named popped in my head... GABRIEL. I seriously dont know any Gabriel who lives in Hialeah so I put it into our phone and a guy popped up who had been taught years ago. My companion and I both felt super strongly that we needed to visit him. When we arrived at the house he wasn't home. So we knocked the next door over. To our amazement, the cutest little Columbia lady named Anamaria answered the door and with the cutest most contagious smile she told us "adelante."
To say the least we were best friends within seconds and she told us that she had been praying for a church ever since she moved here 3 weeks ago. She knew that God had placed us on her front porch for a reason and so did I. We had a very heart touching conversation about how faith in Jesus Christ has helped her overcome cancer, heartbreak, and most recently leaving behind everything to start a new life. Wow, we walked out of that experience just on cloud nine. The spirit truly is everything to me. I love being a missionary because several times a day we pray and then listen and then seek in the scriptures for guidance. we truly cannot live in these last days without personal revelation like the prophet says. Every night my companion and I are at our bedside with pens and a notebook out showing God that we are ready for whatever task or errand He needs us to run and MAN Do thoughts and words flow to our minds that are not our own. I love coming to know how the spirit works because it is truly so different for every person and it is so personalized!! Learning spaish has helped me understand the spirit even more. Just like learning another language it takes practice and patience. I know that God lead us to meet Anamaria that day for a specific reason and it is because she is ready!!!

I love Hialeah and I love the people with my whole heart. I say this every week but this work is the best. There is no other place I would rather be than here with my front row seat to the biggest miracle of all time, which is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I was reading about miracles in my studies this week and I came across this scripture that I dearly love. its found in

3 Nephi 8:1
"For he truly did many miracles in the name of Jesus; and there was not any man who could do a miracle in the name of Jesus save he were cleansed every whit from his iniquity . "

I know that Jesus Christ lives. And I know this because we see miracles every single day even if we have to look among the trash piles and dead rodents. I know that there is nothing more rewarding in the entire world than to have a change of heart or to see someone change through the Atonement of Christ. This is truly His work and I love getting to know Him better and better each day.

Espero que todo este bien y que todos tengan una feliz semana!

les queremos mucho!!!
